Get Ready, The Focus RS is Coming….
The Ford Fiesta ST and Focus ST are already fierce enough to excite hot hatch enthusiasts, but a little more fire couldn’t hurt. Some recent Ford Focus RS spy shots have revealed an even more powerful Ford model in Europe, near the Nürburgring.
When an automaker takes its cars to the Nürburgring, that’s usually an indication that it means business. The Ford Focus RS is rumored to be using the same 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder EcoBoost engine found in the new 2015 Mustang except with more horsepower—about 350, up from 310.
That’s quite a lot of power to be receiving through only the front wheels, so we think all-wheel drive is a definite possibility.
As far as the exterior goes, the front of the car was camouflaged, but that didn’t stop us from noticing the bumper seemed close to production-ready. Could the new Focus RS be wrapping up soon in development? It sure seems that way. Get ready for it here at Gurley Motors.
