When you are shopping for a pickup truck, the majority of the time you have to sacrifice great gas mileage for superior capabilities. But what if you didn’t have to do that in the future? Right now, the new 2015 Ford F-150 offers 26 miles per gallon at its best and it looks like it’s about to get a whole lot better. The American carmaker recently announced that it is “working very hard” on developing a Ford F-150 Hybrid.
The details on this hybrid pickup are close to nothing, with the majority of our information consisting of it being a gas-electric hybrid powertrain. Last year, though, Raj Nair, Ford’s global production development head, mentioned that Ford was looking to get hybrid pickups and SUVs on sale by 2020. This is most likely the date that the American carmaker is still shooting for, so we have a few years until more details about the hybrid truck will be announced.
In the meantime, make sure you stop in to Gurley Motors today and check out the new Ford F-150! As the smartest, most capable, and toughest pickup truck from Ford yet, you will definitely want to give it a test drive.
