Right off the factory floor, the Ford Focus RS is one of the hottest hot hatches available. But that doesn’t mean it can’t get any better. The British tuner, Mountune, has released a series of Ford Focus RS kit modifications to make the car even quicker, more dynamic, and more fun than it already is.
For mild modifications, Phase One adds new hoses, suspension upgrades, and a bigger intake. Step up to Phase Two and you’ll get a high-flow air filter, durable silicone hoses, an improved air recirculation valve, and a modified ECU.
With Phase Two in place, the turbocharged 2.3-liter, four-cylinder engine will produce 370 horsepower and 346 lb-ft of torque. This will let the Focus RS reach 62 mph in 4.5 seconds—an improvement of about half a second over a stock model.
Mountune is currently working on a Phase Three kit, but hasn’t released details yet. However, since all three kits were jointly developed by Mountune and Ford Performance, they can be installed at an authorized Ford dealership and won’t void the factory warranty on your Focus RS. But the best part? All three kit modifications will be available both in Britain and here in the U.S.
Do you have you sights set on any of these performance upgrades for your Ford Focus RS?
