At the 88th Annual League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) National Convention in San Antonio held earlier this summer, the Ford Motor Company Fund presented $400,000 in scholarships and grants as part of its Ford Driving Dreams Grants program.
These funds were awarded to 10 Councils and LULAC National Educational Service Centers located across the country. The money will be used to support educational programs for high schoolers and help them pursue a higher education.
“Ford Fund is very proud of its collaboration with LULAC. Together we provide invaluable resources to help the councils build a stronger and brighter future for thousands of students in their own communities,” said Joe Avila, manager, Ford Motor Company Fund. “Education has long been a priority for Ford and we remain committed to helping our young people advance in school and reach their academic dreams.”
The grants are headed to councils across the country, including California, Illinois, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.
Since 2010, Ford Driving Dreams Grants have supported LULAC Councils with more than $1.3 million and have helped more than 1,500 students achieve their educational dreams.
Here at Gurley Motor Company, we are proud to be part of a company that puts such a high priority on education for our younger generations. We hope to see even more investments in the coming years.
