The 2018 Ford F-150 continues with the long-standing tradition of quality and performance offered by Ford pickups. In particular, the F-150 has a high-strength aluminum build to improve performance, handling, and fuel economy—a feature offered for three model years. When properly equipped, the new F-150 has a best-in-class towing rating of up to 13,200 pounds and it also has a range of new technologies.
There are many 2018 F-150 highlights to mention. According to Ford, the F-150 is up to 700 pounds lighter than the previous generation of trucks, thanks to its aluminum alloy design. Not only does this lightweight engineering help you save at the pump, it also improves aspects like handling and acceleration. Beneath the aluminum is a fully-boxed frame that’s made with high-strength steel.
The F-150 also comes with an available 360-degree camera to help you navigate narrow streets and parking spots. There’s an integrated tailgate step and deployable box steps offered on certain trims, and the SYNC® 3 system keeps you better connected. In fact, with SYNC® Connect you can turn your F-150 into a mobile office.
Finally, the 2018 F-150 is capable. Features like the Torque-On-Demand® transfer case offer better acceleration, especially on rough terrain. You can also find a new Raptor trim with stock parts like a high-output engine, all-terrain tires, FOX Racing Shox™, and a special TORSEN® differential. There’s even a Terrain Management System™ with up to six selectable drive modes.
