As the demand for utility vehicles increases, so does the demand for more options on utility vehicles, and the 2015 Ford Explorer plans to give you just that. The 2015 Ford Explorer will be one of the first SUVs to experience this update, and Gurley Motor Company could not be more excited about this! The Explorer LTE will soon be available with a sports-inspired appearance package that is sure to raise the bar on comfort, style, and technology.
“Customers asked for more and this is our answer,” said Matt Zuehlk, Ford Explorer brand manager. “We know consumers love the look of Explorer Sport; with this package, you get that for Explorer XLT. It looks bold and rugged, and offers impressive technology at a surprising value.”
The new appearance package will feature 20-inch machined aluminum wheels with painted pockets, black body-side plastic cladding, roof rails, and body-color door handles. This new appearance package will also feature mirror caps, liftgate applique, and grille painted in “magnetic metallic,” along with an “Explorer” hood badge. The XLT package will also offer heated leather and suede seats with contrast stitching, and an auto dimming rear view mirror.
According to data from IHS Automotive, Ford is gaining more and more attention from the millennial demographic, in other words, buyers between the ages of 18 and 34. They have increased sales 72 percent in this age range since 2009, and the Ford Explorer has contributed 21 percent to that growth proving that the Explorer attracts all types of customers. The new appearance package for the Explorer XLT is projected to up these numbers even more.
Additional updates for 2015 include new 18-inch aluminum wheels now standard on the base model; Class III trailer tow package now standard on Explorer Sport; and three new colors – Bronze Fire Metallic Tinted Clearcoat, Caribou Metallic and Magnetic Metallic.
